Professional Art is Tree Art’s programme for students aged eight and above in Singapore. Three tracks cover Fine Arts, Design and Exploration, running from charcoal drawing and oil painting to graphic design and digital painting.

We believe in nurturing creativity and artistic skills in every child. Our varied curriculum is designed to engage students of all ages, offering art lessons for children, art classes for teenagers and drawing classes for all levels. Our Fine Arts and Design courses are an excellent way to inspire a love for art whilst developing key artistic skills.

Fine Arts
Building A Strong Artistic Foundation
Engage in a diverse range of artistic mediums such as Sketching, Charcoal Drawing, Oil Painting, and Sculpture. These painting and drawing classes provide your child the foundation needed to explore their creativity.
Encourage your child's expression through colour. Our classes feature Soft Pastel Drawing, Colour Pencils, and Colour Markers, allowing your child to explore different styles and techniques.

Exploration Course
Broadening Artistic Horizons
Our Exploration Course expands the traditional art class by including Art History and Outdoor Drawing sessions. As part of our holiday art classes in Singapore, we offer a variety of programmes to keep your child engaged and inspired.
Sketching classes have set up at Jewel Changi, the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre and the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum. For one 50-student sketching morning at CHIJMES, teachers walked the site a week ahead and planned a different brief for each age group on the same theme, keeping the one-teacher-to-six-students ratio outdoors.

The Professional Stages
What Does Each Stage Teach
Tree Art’s published curriculum maps the professional years in two stages — the Professional Initial Period at ages 8–10 and the Professional Advanced Period from 10 up. Here is what each stage teaches, shown with a real student work from that age band.

8–10
Professional Initial Period
Painting skills strengthen and combine with logical creativity. Students cultivate unique insights and vision, refining delicate perception, beautification and styling ability.
They learn to handle picture space consciously — the relationship between what is drawn solid and what is left suggested — and to connect an object's inherent colour to the sketch. Technique and appreciation classes increase, with a first look at art history and the representative artists of its key genres.

Professional Advanced Period
The advanced stage cultivates a comprehensive ability of artistic expression and strengthens independent thinking. Students use different painting media with skill, understand how art history developed, and can talk independently about the artists they like.
A professional sketch course anchors the stage, with oil painting and Chinese painting as the main focus, interspersed with idea courses and special courses. Figure painting and object structure come to the fore — character proportion, form and structure practice.

Digital Art
Art Meets Technology
Digital work does not stay in the classroom. Students can take their creations to the ART TECH Creative Competition, jointly organized by Tree Art, Futurum Academy and GaiaX.
The 2026 edition ran under the theme “Future Nostalgia: Regenerating Memories”, with an Art Category for ages 4 to 18 and a Technology Category spanning model building and 3D printing.

Exhibitions
On Exhibition Walls
Student work from Tree Art travels. Our students enter the ART OLYMPICS illustration competition, exhibited at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, and the IYAC TOP competition, backed by the Contemporary Art Center of New York. The H.C. Andersen International Art Exhibition opened its 2025 edition in Odense, Denmark — the walls in these photographs.
