The Hans Christian Andersen (International) Art Award was established in Odense, Denmark, by the Denmark H.C. Andersen Culture & Art Committee, in collaboration with the Denmark H.C. Andersen Society (Copenhagen). This prestigious annual international art award honors Hans Christian Andersen’s contributions to culture and the arts, while recognizing outstanding artistic creations worldwide.

安徒生(国际)艺术奖由丹麦王国安徒生文化艺术发展委员会(Denmark H.C.Andersen Culture& Art Committee)创立于丹麦欧登塞，并联合丹麦安徒生学会(哥本哈根)(Denmark H.C.Andersen Samfundet Copenhagen)共同主办，是为纪念安徒生在文化艺术方面的成就、表彰国际艺术创作而设置的一个高级别国际年度艺术奖项。

The Hans Christian Andersen (International) Art Award seeks to spread Andersen’s influence among global art enthusiasts, encourage diverse forms of artistic expression, and inspire creativity and imagination in the spirit of Andersen’s fairy tales. Through artistic creation, participants can bring their own dreamlike worlds to life, crafting visions of beauty and storytelling through art.

1. Honorary Creation Award

For submitted works, the Executive Committee will select winners for the Hans Christian Andersen (International) Art Award in the following categories:

• Gold Award
• Silver Award
• Bronze Award
• Excellence Award (Finalist Award)

The Host Organizations and Executive Committee will present Honorary Certificates and award recipients the Hans Christian Andersen (International) Art Award Medal (Hans Christian Andersen Commemorative Medal).

针对参选作品，执委会将评选出安徒生(国际)艺术奖金奖、银奖、铜奖、优秀奖（入围奖），由主办单位及执委会颁发荣誉证书，授予安徒生(国际)艺术奖奖章（安徒生纪念奖章）。

2. Academic Guidance Award

学术指导奖

Teachers who guide participating students will be honored with the Hans Christian Andersen (International) Art Award – Academic Guidance Award.
The Host Organizations and Executive Committee will issue Honorary Certificates and award the Hans Christian Andersen (International) Art Award Medal.

05 | Selection Rules

1. Participation Guidelines

The competition is open to children and youth aged 3 to 18 and young adults over 18 who are passionate about art. Participants are encouraged to create works inspired by fairy tales and storytelling.

Winners will be invited to the Hans Christian Andersen International Art Exhibition, where they will receive an official exhibition gift box issued by the organizing committee and have the opportunity to participate in the Hans Christian Andersen International Cultural and Artistic Exchange Tour.

3. Artwork Requirements

Submitted works may include:

• Painting, sculpture, paper cutting, calligraphy, design, and photography.

3、作品要求：作品形式可包含绘画、雕塑、剪纸、书法、设计、摄影等。

4. Artwork Format

• Painting submissions should primarily be in A3 size (297mm × 420mm, standard international format).
• For calligraphy, photography, sculpture, and installation art with non-standard dimensions, submission details should be consulted in advance.

4、作品形式：其中绘画类建议以A3规格为主(国际通用标准A3规格的纸张大小为297mmx420mm)。书法、摄影、雕塑、装置艺术特殊尺幅作品，递交方式需咨询。

5. Registration Method

• Registration should be completed through Tree Art regional centers.

6. Submission Format

• Digital submission preferred: Images must be in JPG/PNG format, with a maximum file size of 5MB.
• For award-winning works, participants must submit the original physical artwork to the China Regional Executive Committee.

6、作品递交以电子照片为主，照片为JPG/PNG格式、大小不超过5M， 评选出获奖作品后，参展作者需递交纸质原作品至中国区执委会。

7. Originality Requirement

• Submitted works must be original and authentic.
• By participating, all selected artists agree to the competition’s submission rules.

7、作品要求原创真实，凡选送作品参加本次活动的作者，主办单位均视为同意本征稿启事之规则。

8. Selection Criteria

• As different art forms vary in their evaluation methods, the final selection criteria will be the deciding standard.
• Submitted works will not be returned.
• Artwork copyright remains with the artist, but publication and usage rights belong to the organizing and hosting institutions.

8、各种类型作品创作形式不一，因此在评选形式也将有所差别，以最终评选要求为准。所有参与展览的作品概不退还，作品署名权归作者所有，出版权及使用权归主办单位和承办单位所有。

9. Evaluation Standards

• The Hans Christian Andersen (International) Art Award will be judged comprehensively based on evaluation criteria set by the Executive Committee.

As a cultural initiative, the Hans Christian Andersen (International) Art Award has actively promoted cultural exchanges between Denmark and China.
