Exhibition Theme: Horizon
Officially organized by the Kyoto International Community House, the 2024 Horizon Japan Kyoto International Art Exhibition will once again present a fresh approach under the theme “Horizons – The Horizon.” It explores the boundaries that the eye can see but can never reach. Building on past experiences and the current environment, the exhibition focuses on works that emphasize the protection, pursuit, and concern for human emotion, dignity, value, and destiny, while paying special attention to the overall presentation of the exhibition and reflecting a sense of humanistic spirit.
To showcase more artists’ reflections, the exhibition will continue to collect submissions, with selected works recommended by the Exhibition Organizing Committee and the Art Committee. Winners of Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards in the 2024 OCIYAC New York TOP International Illustration Master Award (S2), organized in collaboration with UNICEF and OCIYAC, are eligible for direct inclusion. This approach creates a global annual exhibition uniquely representing the younger generation, aiming to inspire artists’ creativity and imagination, encourage them to transcend known boundaries, and explore new artistic territories.
We hope to gather the creativity and inspiration of artists from around the world and, through this exhibition, jointly explore new international perspectives at the forefront of contemporary art.

由京都国际交流会馆公式主催，2024 Horizon 日本京都国際艺术展将再次迎来全新的展览呈现思路与方式“Horizons-地平线”。目光所能触及到但永远到达不了的边界。结合过往经验与当下环境，将目光聚集至对人的情感、尊严、价值、命运的维护、追求和关切的作品之上，更为注重展览整体呈现，体现人文情怀。
为了看到更多艺术家的思考，展览将继续沿用作品征集的方式，由展览组委会与艺术委员会对展览作品进行评选推荐，参与联合国儿童基金会与OCIYAC举办的2024OCIYAC纽约TOP国际插画大师奖(S2)的金银铜获奖者可直接入展，形成独属于青年一代呈现的全球年度展览。旨在激发艺术家们的创造力和灵感，鼓励他们超越已知的界限，开拓新的领域。我们希望汇聚众多全球艺术家的创意和灵感，通过展览，共同探索国际前沿的新视野。

"In my work I have built a fantastical wonderland: a world where animals roam freely, fish grow legs, people fly through the sky, and great trees grow on the clouds. Everything appears absurd and illogical, yet it feels harmonious and natural. These are not utopias — at most, they are colorful soap bubbles. The 'them' in my work carries its own distinct sense of time and space, shaped in part by the influence of Western masters such as Bosch, de Chirico, Chagall, and Dalí. Works shipped from overseas should be packaged in plastic or cardboard tubes, or sandwiched between sturdy boards. Works submitted domestically should, in principle, also be placed between sturdy boards to prevent damage during handling, packing, and unpacking by the organizers.
Oil and acrylic paintings should be no larger than 55 x 46 cm and shipped without inner or outer frames. Chinese painting and soft-brush calligraphy works should have an image area no larger than roughly 46 x 69 cm and must be vertically mounted by the artist. Works on A3, A4, or other card-stock formats should be mounted accordingly.
Please fill out all forms clearly in English (or Chinese), making sure all necessary information is completed before submission, and include the forms with the shipped work. When shipping from overseas, be sure to declare the work as having "no commercial value."
The Exhibit Information Sheet must be securely attached to the upper right corner of the back of each work.
The mailing address will be provided by email; works must arrive by August 31. If an original work is not delivered to the designated address by the deadline for reasons unrelated to the organizers, the participation fee will not be refunded.
Submitting Digital Works
The organizing committee provides high-resolution giclée print production free of charge (with Japanese technical support).
The organizing committee handles mounting and shipping the work to the Kyoto International Community House.
Note: Digital artworks created in apps such as Procreate may be submitted this way with no special requirements.
Fee Details
A: There is no fee for the initial selection round.
B: Works accepted into the exhibition require a fee of SGD 188 per piece.
C: All mounting and framing is arranged by the organizing committee at no extra cost.
D: Original works are returned after the exhibition closes (return shipping is the artist's responsibility).
