Welcome to “Reshaping: Redefining the City”! We are thrilled to embark on this exciting journey with you, exploring the intersection of art, technology, and sustainability in the cities of the future.

Inspired by Lady Bird Johnson’s powerful quote, “The environment is where we all meet; where we all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share,” this event is a collaboration between TreeArt and Futurum Academy, supported by the Youth & Children Education Society Singapore and United Square. Our goal is to raise awareness and build a more sustainable future for our community.

Through innovative art and technology projects, we will showcase how to tackle environmental challenges in building sustainable cities. Our aim is to inspire new ideas and spark discussions about creating a better world for future generations.

Event Description

“Reshaping Plastic: Redefining the City” is an event aimed at showcasing how creativity, technology, and sustainability can collectively address the pervasive plastic pollution in our cities and the environmental challenges we face in building sustainable urban areas. The event will feature a diverse array of exhibits highlighting the application of technology in creating sustainable urban environments. These artworks, created through the event, will explore the role of emerging technologies such as 3D printing, robotics, and recyclable materials in creating sustainable exhibits, reducing waste, and promoting energy efficiency. Additionally, these exhibits will demonstrate how art can be used to raise environmental awareness and encourage more sustainable lifestyles.

Sustainable art installations are typically artworks designed to raise awareness about environmental protection. They utilize recyclable materials or natural elements to convey the importance of sustainability through creative expression. These installations are often placed in public spaces to attract greater public attention and engagement. Here are some notable examples of sustainable art installations:

Solar Portal – A large portal-shaped art installation made of solar panels that collects solar energy during the day and uses that energy to illuminate the installation at night, showcasing the beauty and practicality of renewable energy.

Plastic Bottle Halo – A halo-shaped installation created using discarded plastic bottles, aimed at raising awareness about plastic pollution. This installation transforms waste into beauty, demonstrating the potential and aesthetics of recycling.

Seed Cathedral – A structure made using thousands of seeds, each encapsulated in a transparent rod, representing the power of life and growth. The structure emphasizes the diversity of nature and its importance to human survival.

These art installations are not only visually appealing but also convey a powerful message about environmental protection and promoting sustainable lifestyles. Through art, creators hope to inspire viewers to reflect on their behaviors and take action to support a sustainable future for our planet.
