Nina Dzyvulska is a formally trained artist who graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Ukraine. After completing her studies in 2012, she chose not to follow the conventional path of traditional art, instead opting to reinterpret the world through her unique perspective.
Most of Nina’s works are created digitally, though she occasionally incorporates acrylic markers and spray paint. Her art is highly recognizable: bright color blocks, exaggerated distortions, and flowing lines come together to form a distinctive visual language that sits somewhere between children’s doodles and professional illustration.

Her characters are often simplified into spherical heads with noodle-like limbs, while animals resemble clay-like toys. This “childlike” treatment actually enhances emotional expression. Her compositions are always filled with dynamic movements—running, hugging, flying—even in still scenes, a sense of vitality is conveyed through fluttering hems and drifting hair.

Her signature patterns have achieved global recognition, blurring the line between art and everyday life.
These cross-disciplinary collaborations have not diluted her artistic style; rather, they have allowed her art to reach a wider audience while conveying a sense of “Ukrainian warmth.” T-shirts printed with her grinning banana designs or backpacks featuring blinking star patterns have become highly sought-after collectibles among fans.

When the Russia-Ukraine war broke out in 2022, Nina was creating art in the suburbs of Kyiv with her children. Amid the sounds of artillery, she persisted in drawing her “Rainbow Air-Raid Shelter” series on an iPad: the shelters were packed with hand-holding, singing animals, while missiles exploded in the sky like fireworks.
This experience added a deeper emotional dimension to her work while maintaining her signature joyful tone. She became even more determined to use art to convey love, hope, and freedom. Her pieces grew brighter and warmer than ever, as if using color to dispel the darkness of reality. These works spread widely on Instagram, becoming iconic symbols of anti-war art worldwide.
2022年俄乌战争爆发时，Nina正带着孩子在基辅郊区创作。炮火声中，她坚持用iPad绘制《彩虹防空壕》系列：防空洞里挤满手拉手唱歌的动物，导弹在空中炸成烟花……
