The rabbit in the picture holds a pen in one hand and a letter in the other, colored blue, with glaring red eyes and prominent front teeth.

The stamp, officially titled “Rabbit Blessing,” features a witty image of a rabbit holding a pen in its right hand and a letter in its left, symbolizing the blessing and good fortune it delivers to people during the Lunar New Year.
这枚名为 “癸卯寄福”的邮票，这只兔子的官方释义为：画面中是右手执笔、左手持信的睿智卯兔形象，有着给人们传递新春美好祝福的寓意。
The blue rabbit in Mr. Huang’s “Year of the Rabbit” stamp set is a homonym for “blueprint.” It conveys a sense of innocence, sincerity, and childlike freedom, unburdened by worldly concerns. Perhaps Huang Yongyu always aspired to paint as freely as a child. He might not care how others perceive his work or silently observe critiques like an amusing curiosity, exploring the “Hamlet” within 1,000 minds.

Designer Huang Yongyu, now 99 years old, discussed his creative intentions behind the Year of the Rabbit zodiac stamp. He said, “Drawing a rabbit stamp is a joy for me. Everyone can draw a rabbit; I’m not the only one. It’s delightful to see everyone happy and wishing each other a happy new year. Thank you all!”
邮票的设计者、99岁的黄永玉就兔年生肖邮票谈了自己的创作初衷，他说：“画个兔子邮票，（对我来说）是开心的事。这个兔子呢，大家都会画，也不是专门只有我一个人会画。画出来大家高兴，祝贺明年的新年而已。谢谢大家！”
The “Coexistence” stamp features three running rabbits encircling the design, with a “Jade Rabbit Pounding Medicine” decorative pattern in the background, representing a sincere wish for peace and health. Some people wondered how such a small stamp could create such a frenzy in the collectors’ world.

In 2016, when the fourth round of zodiac stamps was issued, Huang Yongyu once again participated in the design process, creating the illustrations for the two Monkey-year stamps in the “Year of the Monkey” series.
