In Tokyo this March, we completed a 7-day, 6-night journey through traditional Edo and futuristic Tokyo, looking back at the brilliant “Aesthetic Gene Decoding.” Amidst the shifting light and shadows, the moments of growth remain as vivid and passionate as ever.
The World of Two-Dimensional Art at Amps Anime School
Stepping into the school that nurtures countless fantasies, we observed the creative techniques of our instructors up close, learning the professional logic of drawing and gaining insight into Japan’s anime industry and creative philosophy.
An immersive experience that showcased the charm of two-dimensional culture.
All students who successfully completed the course were awarded an Official Graduation Certificate authorized by the school—an affirmation of their creative potential and the first honor on their artistic journey.
Visiting Top Art Universities
We visited Japan’s prestigious Musashino Art University, immersing ourselves in its educational philosophy of “cultivating truly humanistic art” and planting the seeds of art in the hearts of every child, filling them with infinite hope for their future artistic path.
Pilgrimage to Anime Culture Landmarks
We visited the real-life locations from Makoto Shinkai’s classic anime Your Name, including the iconic Suga Shrine, and learned how to transform ordinary daily scenes into story-rich animated visuals.
At the Fujiko F. Fujio Museum, we stepped into the magical world of Doraemon, a beloved character loved worldwide.
We boarded a vintage tram and traveled along the Shonan coast, stopping at the famous intersection from Slam Dunk for a commemorative photo.
Seasonal Aesthetic Practices
During the spring in Japan, the most surprising moment was encountering the full view of Mount Fuji under clear skies. This moment of luck became the most unforgettable highlight of our journey.
When Mount Fuji’s white snow met the cherry blossoms by Lake Kawaguchi, nature unfolded its most luxurious canvas.
Each sketchbook carried evidence of spring, with drawings capturing the skies, the falling sakura, and the moment of beauty that struck the hearts of young travelers.
Parents were deeply moved too, picking up brushes to join in the creation.
The Magic of Dyeing and Weaving
We visited a Kyoto Yuzen dyeing workshop, known for its national treasure-level craftsmanship, and this time, we didn’t just observe but actively participated in the creation process.
With our fingertips touching the warmth of the craftsmanship that transcends time, we felt the devotion and passion behind each masterpiece.
Masterpiece Reproduction at the National Art Museum
At Tokyo’s New National Art Museum, we had the opportunity to experience a master’s reproduction session.
Everyone mimicked poses from famous artworks, turning the exhibition into a fun and interactive experience.
A delightful surprise: Mr. Nakamura, the artist behind one of the paintings, was also present and drew portrait sketches for our students.
The Dream of Edo in Traditional Kimono
Dressed in exquisite traditional kimonos, we strolled through Tokyo’s oldest temple, Senso-ji, and reflected on the Eastern beauty of kimono design, standing under the vermilion torii gate and surrounded by the serene atmosphere of the temple.

Double-Certified Creative Experience
We learned to make authentic sushi, where deliciousness met creativity, and art walked hand-in-hand with passion.
In this second creative project, we combined iconic Japanese anime and sushi culture to design and complete unique “sushi-themed anime characters,” earning another official certificate of recognition.
As the pink dreams of spring gradually fade away, Japan’s early summer begins to brew a distinctly different aesthetic narrative:
It’s the quiet bloom of hydrangeas by the sea.
It’s the vibrant colors of yukatas in the summer festival breeze.
